Sleaze: Factors Atlanta
Sleaze was created in partnership with Sophie Hodson, a Georgia State contemporary studying curatorial practices with Spurill Gallery, Dunwoody, GA, as a further exploration of the thin barriers between stage and gallery. Inspired by indie aesthetics and contrasting fine art practices with contemporary alternative spaces, the work decorated the backdrop of Factors Collection Atlanta intimate, yet open door party scene, Indie Jungle. Through publicly accessible work in third spaces, I seek to foster environments that promote community, present thinking, and art that is neither commodified nor exclusive.
The co-creation of “Sleaze” continues as a revisitation to the intentions behind a previous performance piece and curated experience, “Heartstring,” with Eyedrum Gallery Atlanta for the Mokita Spring Exhibition. Working in partnership with other artists and the community driven culture of Factors has allowed me to develop my practice toward constant collaboration with my audience to culturally enrich the communities that have welcomed my work.
Created in collaboration with Sophie Ann Hodson, Joanna Lalicata, and Factors Collection.
Materials: Flowers, wire, and wood.
