Ode to Archival
“I reflect upon the greater-body and the preservation of one’s self, purpose, and intimate soul. My work emphasizes experiences, utilizing organic and shifting mediums to explore the body's natural changes and its interactions with external forces. I seek to convey a temporal and sensory aspect of the world, often incorporating my physical presence or creating space for interaction in its absence— highlighting the body's desire to be seen and documented. I seek to analyze how we perceive and are influenced by the physical and metaphysical, making the body both a subject worth and a medium through my practice.”
My practice spans sculpture, installation, performance, painting, video, poetry, art-writing and many more. I am always concerned with utilizing artistic media as a tool, rather then let that inform what is right for me. These tools allow me to preserve the creative mind in a way that pays homage to archival and experience documentation itself as an art form.
